Dog Friendly Transport and Locations

dog friendly

As some of us are dog owners ourselves we understand that it can be hard to find nice places to go for walks and days out that are pet friendly. We also understand that traveling to and from these destinations can be difficult when most transport services don’t offer pet friendly vehicles. That’s where we pull up! We offer taxis for you and your four legged friends so that enjoying a day out with family, or dog walking friends has never been easier. We have even put together a list of destinations we’ve taken and picked up from where you can enjoy some time with the company of your furry companions.

Blickling Estate

Estimated as an 1 hour 45 minute walk, Blickling Park (located near Aylsham) takes you through beautiful woods and paths. With sights to see along the way such as the Tower and Mausoleum there is always something to look forward to on this walk. As with all the locations listed here, dogs are welcome! However it is worth noting that a lead will have to be worn while walking through the park.

Sheringham Park

There’s 1,000’s of acres for you and your four legged friends to explore, Sheringham park has marked trails that are easy to follow and range between 1 and 5 miles. With that in mind, whether your dog is a Pug or a German Shepherd you can tailor the length of your walk to your dog’s stamina.

Fancy some food before or after your walk, then you’re in luck. Sheringham park also has the Courtyard Cafe, provided your dog is kept on a lead your canine companion is welcome to sit with you while you get properly refreshed for your walk.

Felbrigg Hall

A walk we would suggest at Felbrigg Hall is the church and ice house walk. This is a circular walking trail passing the lake, church and ice house. This walk also goes through open fields and woodlands so that both you and your dog can get the most out of nature along the way.

Felbrigg Estate has Squire’s Pantry, another location that allows your furry friends to sit with you while you have a cup of tea and a cake. There is also a shop on site where you can bring your dog with you while you browse souvenirs and gifts for yourself or family and friends.

Thornham Beach

This beach has no dog restrictions! You can park up and walk on the embankments to the beach, once there your dog can enjoy the feeling of the sand between their paws and the fresh sea breeze. However keep an eye out for birds in the sand dunes, as they often set up nests here. It’s important to maintain control of your pooch while near these areas to avoid disturbing ground nesting birds.

Offering transport across Norfolk we have been to some wonderful places to explore that are perfect for dog-walking. When on days out you don’t want to leave your dog at home if you can help it, as they become a valued member of the family.

We have experienced this first hand as we have an official puppy for our company here at Stripes Express, Angus the Rottweiler! So we know a thing or two about transporting your pooch to and from a destination. We offer pet friendly taxis, so if you’re in need of a ride for you and your dog simply fill out our online booking form and let us know that you require an extra seat for your best friend.

P.S. Angus has his own instagram account! Check out his page @angustherottweiler to keep up to date on his adventures.
