The most commonly asked taxi questions about our taxi services

We are often asked questions regarding our taxi service, aside from the usual “what time are you on until?” so we have collated some of the most popular queries, to try and assist with your taxi curiosities.

We have a long-distance event to go to, can you pick us up too?

Yes, we often take customers cross country to attend all manner of events from festivals to weddings, conferences to funerals. In most circumstances, and subject to availability our driver is able to wait locally for you, so that we are on hand when it is time for you to return.

Do I need to pay in advance for my taxi or airport transfer?

Yes, we take a 20% deposit for our airport transfers to secure you booking to your next get away.

Can I pay by card for my journey?

Yes, we understand that these days our customers don’t always carry cash with them. That’s why we accept card and bank transfer, as well as cash of course. 

Do you take wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, at the moment our vehicles do not have any wheelchair accessible vehicles of our own, however we do have contact within the industry who we are happy to refer you to. 

Do you take pets?

The Stripes family includes our very own Angus the Rottweiler, so of course we are happy to transport your pet in our taxis. Whether you are travelling for a holiday together, a day out or simply need a taxi to the local vet we can help. In between our four legged passengers we ensure our taxis are kept spotless, so that if you are travelling pet free you will not be affected.

We would like to book a taxi for a group, can you help?

Yes! We have recently taken on a minibus into our fleet, allowing us to take group bookings up to 8 people in one vehicle. If you are looking for a large group booking for a taxi in Norfolk, for a wedding or event, we are able to book more than one vehicle, or if it is short distance we can do multiple runs in order to complete your transfer.

We have booked an airport transfer, what happens if our flight is delayed?

As soon as you are made aware of your flight delay let us know via our contact form or by telephone. We will also monitor your arrival time, based on your fight number supplied at the time of booking so any inflight changes will be known to our driver.  Providing we have availability we will simply adjust your flight time. In the unlikely event that we are unable to cover your collection due to an extended flight delay, we work alongside other taxi transfer companies, and will strive to provide cover for your collection.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Hickling Norfolk, so for daily taxi collections and local pickups we collect and drop off in Wroxham, Stalham, Potter Heigham and the surrounding areas, including the Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk coast. We are ideally placed to be your go to Norfolk holiday taxi company, but equally offer regular local trips to assist with regular hospital taxi journeys and commuting to local train stations. In addition to local pick ups and drop offs, we also offer country wide airport transfers and station meet and greet services.

How can I change my taxi booking?

If you are needing to change an existing booking, please call us on 01692 434007. We will always try our best to accommodate your requirements.

My flight has changed. Can I reschedule my transfer?

Dependant on the amount of notice,  in most cases we should be able to reschedule your transfer, providing we have availability for the new time/date. Call us on with the details of your new flight and we will try our best to accommodate the change.

Where will I meet the driver when I arrive at the airport or station?

If you have booked a meet and greet service for the airport, we will meet you as you come into arrivals. Our driver will be easy to spot, with a board showing your lead passengers name.

With station meet and greets, our driver will wait near to the platforms in an easy to spot location, again they will hold a board with your name on.

We will always offer to help with your luggage if you would like too.

Will anyone else be travelling in the vehicle I book?

No, generally we only offer private transfers so the vehicle is yours for exclusive use.

On occasion we may have another enquiry, particularly regarding event taxis, where others are also wanting a taxi to the same place at the same time. If this is the case, sometimes we will ask you if you would like to share your taxi. There is no pressure to do so, but you will be offered a reduced rate if that is the case. 

Can you arrange for collections from more than one location?

Yes of course. When you book, simply let us know the details of your collection points in the notes section and we will quote you accordingly for any number of pick ups you require.
